BAGAMA’T hindi pa natatanggap ng Kamara ang kopya ng mga petisyon laban sa impeachment case na inihain ng kampo ni Vice President ‘Inday’ Sara Duterte-Carpio sa Korte Suprema, ibabasura ito umano ito ng mga House prosecutor.

Kahapon ay tumanggi si House secretary general Reginald Velasco na magbigay ng komento hinggil sa mga petisyong inihain ng Bise Presidente at maging ng kanyang mga abogado sa SC dahil wala pa umanong natatanggap ang mga ito na kopya.

“Considering that we have not received copies of any of these petitions, we are constrained to wait until we are furnished copies before we respond to any query on the matter,” ayon sa inilabas na pahayag ni Velasco.

Subalit ayon sa isa sa 11 House prosecutor na si Batangas District II representative Gerville ‘Jinky Bitrics’ Reyes-Luistro, awtomatikong pagpapa-dismiss umano ang desisyon ng mga ito sa nasabing mga petisyon, partikular na ang inihain ng Pangalawang Pangulo.

“Wala pong sapat na basehan ang Korte Suprema para mag-isyu ng TRO (temporary restraining order) regarding the impeachment complaint,” tinukoy ni Luistro.

Ipinaliwanag nito na walang batayan ang alegasyon ni VP Sara na hindi nasunod ang verification rule, isiningit lang ang verification page at hindi sinumpaan ng mga mambabatas ang kanilang nilagdaang impeachment articles.

“Iyon pong sinasabi nilang hindi namin kayang aralin iyong seven article of impeachment in a day . . . this is misleading sapagkat ang totoo po n’yan, since the filing of the three impeachment complaints ay nagkaroon na po ng individual evaluation ng mga congressman. And we know for a fact as well na marami sa mga ground of impeachment subject matter na ng Quad Comm hearing at ng Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability,” paliwanag pa ng mambabatas.

Hinggil sa inirereklamo ni VP Duterte na hindi ito binigyan ng due process, nilinaw ni Luistro na “wala po sa batas na bago mag-file ng impeachment complaint eh i-notify ang vice president.”

Dahil dito, kailangan aniyang i-dismiss ng Kataas-taasang Hukuman ang petisyon ng kampo ng Bise Presidente na mag-isyu ito ng TRO at mapigilan ang impeachment trial.

Samantala, kinastigo naman ni House deputy minority leader France Castro si Senate President Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero dahil dine-delay umano nito ang impeachment trial laban sa pangalawang pangulo.

“The convening of an impeachment court is not contingent on public clamor—it is a constitutional mandate. Senate President Escudero misses the point entirely when he asks ‘what clamor?’ This is not a cheering contest but a matter of constitutional duty . . .
